Since 2015, I have been involved in various key roles at the Zürich Openair, gaining extensive experience in different areas of festival management. My career at the Zürich Openair culminated in the role of Head of Operations.

In this role, I had overall responsibility for reusable management and food & beverage management, including the associated logistics. My range of tasks covered the strategic planning and implementation of all operational processes, from reducing waste and promoting sustainability through effective reusable systems to ensuring efficient and smooth processes in the areas of catering and supply.

A key aspect of my job was managing and coordinating a large team. I managed a multi-layered staff structure that included department and shift managers and was also responsible for managing around 150 volunteers. This structure fostered clear communication and efficient workflows, which were crucial to meeting the operational challenges of a large music festival. My leadership role involved not only staff planning and training, but also motivating and supporting the team to ensure high morale and optimal performance.

In addition, I was responsible for developing and implementing staff training programmes to ensure that all team members were well prepared for their roles and able to meet the festival's high standards. Effectively managing and supporting the volunteers, who are an essential pillar of the festival operations, required a deep understanding of team dynamics as well as excellent communication skills.

Working closely with suppliers and other stakeholders, I ensured that all logistical and operational requirements were met on time and in line with set budgets and environmental guidelines. Constantly analysing and evaluating operational processes enabled me to make ongoing improvements, increase efficiency and continuously enhance the festival experience for all involved.
