# Vaccination centre Inselspital

- Description: In order to be able to carry out the vaccination as efficiently as possible, a system should be developed that can automatically measure the body temperature of people willing to be vaccinated as they pass by.

With this task in mind, we quickly developed a system that uses a thermal camera and a face recognition camera to contactlessly measure people's temperature at a distance of 1.5m to 2m. The cameras and a screen, on which the camera image including the current measurements is displayed live, were mounted on a column. A mini-computer is located on the back, which carries out the analyses and serves as a link between the cameras and the monitor.

As this installation records sensitive health data, it was clear to us from the outset that data protection had to be a central element of this project. We therefore opted for a "privacy by design" approach and ensured that no data would be recorded; the system only works with "live" data. In this way, we were able to ensure that body temperature measurements were possible within the framework of data protection requirements.
